BUDGET HEARING MINUTES

Chairman Jim Bulick called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.
Chairman Bulick explained the process and what we would be reviewing this evening. ~He turned the floor over to Superintendent Dave Harding to present the Board of Education budget. ~
Superintendent Harding said their budget request for the 2016/2017 FY is for $8,055,669 which is an increase of 2.84% from last year’s request. He explained some of the changes including retirements and added positions.
First Selectman Mailhos presented the General Government’s side of the budget. ~Their request is for $1,104,172. ~The Board of Selectmen budget is another status quo without cutting or adding services with only contractual increases. She explained some of the increases and what savings were reflected in the budget.
Chairman Bulick asked for comments from the Board and from the floor. None were made.
Seeing that there were no further questions he called the hearing to a close at 7:12.
